AMCF Value Proposition for Membership
What we offer
- Active participation in a peer group that speaks for the industry as a whole to the press, government bodies, clients, vendors and the wider consulting community to increase awareness and understanding of the value the consulting industry and AMCF's members deliver.
- Global Meetings that address the relevant strategic and "big picture" issues in the industry such as the Asia and Europe Leadership Forums in their respective regions and the Annual Global Leadership Forum in NYC.
- Annual Operating Ratios report and other timely pieces of research and information from leading experts in the field as well as management tools that help our membership achieve greater results
- The only industry-standard Code of Ethics. All AMCF members are required to adhere to this and can include this information in their marketing materials.
What you gain
- A voice at the table when messaging about the industry on a broad basis; not being part of the discussion means your firm's concerns and ideas will not be incorporated and heard.
- A deeper understanding of critical industry trends and emerging issues that represent significant revenue generation and growth opportunities for our membership
- Solutions to commonly held operational problems running a small, medium or large consulting firm
- Peer relationships and an expanded professional network with top leaders of competitors and others in the industry which also allow other people within your organization to develop their personal networks
- Referrals for new business that are addressed by potential clients to AMCF, recruiting job boards, etc.

APQC, a nonprofit global resource for process and performance improvement is extending a 50 percent discount on the APQC membership fees to all current AMCF members until the end of August. AMCF is teaming up with APQC to help in our mission of promoting an environment which fosters the success of management consulting firms and the value they deliver to their clients. Since 1977, APQC has worked with more than 500 organizations worldwide to build better ways to work, adapt to change, and succeed in the marketplace. Our consulting firm members have access to more than 30 years of primary and secondary best practice research needed to better serve their clients' needs.
Membership with APQC will supplement your firm's AMCF membership through access to their Knowledge Base, an online portal with thousands of content items geared specifically around improvement methods, benchmarks, and best-practices. Case studies, reports, white papers, and articles found on the Knowledge Base can be reused to promote your firm's thought leadership and for placement in external communications, marketing, client pre-work or engagements, and proposals. All members of your organization have access to this portal as well as APQC's online member directories allowing you to engage and network with colleagues around your particular area of interest.
Another great resource available through APQC is access to the Open Standards Benchmarking CollaborativeSM (OSBC) data. The OSBC research will revolutionize how your clients improve performance by utilizing a publicly accessible framework for measuring performance. It will allow you to focus on their improvement rather than data collection. With OSBC data collected in areas including human capital management, financial management, supply chain, product development, innovation, and IT you have access to industry standards to pinpoint areas of improvement with your clients.
For more information about APQC and their membership or OSBC, please contact Cathy Hill, chill@apqc.org or (713) 685-4652 and visit them online at www.apqc.org/data. Don't forget to let them know you are AMCF member to take advantage of the special discount they are offering us.
